Dave's goals for the Town:
Keep taxes low: Dave prevented an 18% tax increase in 2021, eliminated bank fees since 2014, and implemented the Treasuries program earning the Town more than $10,000 in 2018 and over $100,000 in 2023. He defeated wasteful projects and reduced budgets without affecting services.
Outstanding services: Poestenkill offers excellent road maintenance, Town Clerk services, and fair Planning/BZA hearings. Dave works to improve services while protecting property rights.
Ambulance service: Dave supports switching from Mohawk Ambulance to Sand Lake Ambulance. In 2024, Mohawk averaged 35+ minute response times, while Sand Lake averaged under 8 minutes — a difference that saves lives.
Protect rights: Dave fights against unnecessary regulations and fines. He supported laws allowing residents to cut wood and own chickens without permits, and made water connection optional. Before his council service, he led efforts opposing the NY SAFE Act.
