Dave's goals for the Town:
Keep taxes low: Dave prevented an 18% tax increase in 2021, eliminated bank fees since 2014, and implemented the Treasuries program earning the Town more than $10,000 in 2018, and over $100,000 in 2023. He defeated wasteful projects and reduced budgets without affecting services.
Provide outstanding service: Poestenkill offers excellent road maintenance, Town Clerk services, and fair Planning/Zoning Board hearings. Dave aims to continuously improve these services while protecting property rights.
Ambulance service: Dave supports switching from Mohawk Ambulance to Sand Lake Ambulance, despite the estimated annual cost increase of $100-$200 for residents. The 2024 response time data revealed that Mohawk Ambulance took an average of over 35 minutes to respond, while Sand Lake Ambulance averaged under 8 minutes. North Greenbush, Grafton, Brunswick, and Mohawk will provide mutual aid. This significant improvement in response time could potentially save lives.
Protect rights: Dave advocates for property owners, fighting against fines for vacant properties and unnecessary regulations. He supported laws for cutting wood and owning chickens without permits, and made water connection optional.
Before being a Councilman, Dave successfully petitioned against the NY SAFE Act violating Second Amendment rights.
