Dave has been active in the community. Here's a list of his recent activities:

• Town Councilman of the Town of Poestenkill since 2014. Dave has fought to keep taxes low by stopping wasteful projects and doing thorough budget analyses enabling the Town to function efficiently while avoiding significant tax increases (lowered taxes in 2018).
• Member of the Town of Poestenkill Planning Board from 2010-2013 discussing and deciding land use issues.
• Treasurer of the Poestenkill Business Association which raised and disbursed over $25,000 to Poestenkill residents suffering from Hurricane Irene.
• Founder of the Poestenkill Farmer's Market.
• Initiated discussions with National Grid to bring natural gas to Poestenkill. National Grid ultimately rejected the project claiming they would lose money servicing Poestenkill.
• Successfully petitioned the Town Board to pass resolution condemning the NY SAFE Act which violates resident's Second Amendment rights.

Dave and Martha raised their three boys, Max, Lucas and Alex in Poestenkill. Poestenkill is a wonderful place to raise a family.

Dave is a local business owner. He owns and operates several businesses:

• Poestenkill Baking Company, artisan bread, bagels and other baked goods
• Hass Manufacturing Company, valve manufacturing based in Poestenkill
• PackTrack.com, free online package tracking service

Dave will continue using his 35 years of business experience, helping to keep taxes low yet still provide the essential services that residents expect from the Town.
